Day 10

I have been taking Herbalife for 10 days. I have lost 2.2kg so far. Still, I didn't do much exercise so I think I better start kicking some ass tomorrow onwards.

Received Sze Hong's mail to climb the Pinnacles in Miri. Adrian registered right away. :( Wish I am fit enough to join him and Sze Hong but I guess I can only do it in my dreams. It would be really nice to do the same activity together with your loved ones but this one, I really got to surrender. :(

Last time, I was not enjoying myself in karaoke coz I don't sing in front of people. I just couldn't open my mouth and be myself like when I'm singing in the bathroom. However, Adrian loves it. Whenever Ya Lee or Ah Shun wanna go to karaoke, he will not hesitate to say no and having the experience of not joining them to karaoke and wondering why I am staying at home while they are having fun made me feel bad about myself. To change that, I followed him to karaoke and tried to sing my heart out but the truth is, I'm really a bad singer and most of the time, I actually don't like to hear my voice on the mic.

I'm actually very hungry right now. I had F1 shake this morning for breakfast. Lunch as usual with HH and the gang and was dating Adrian out for dinner but unfortunately, Adrian interpreted it as supper. He had his dinner before he came to pick me up so since that's the case, hmm..no need liaw lar. I won't die without dinner for a night anyway. No food means I dun have mood to talk, walk or do anything..I'm literally a passive walking zombie. Hai~Sigh~

Day 7

After a long CNY break, it's time for badminton again with my usual badminton kaki. Again, before that, I had F1 formula as my breakfast but it will be the last one for today. Brought the mix tea as refreshment during my badminton game and had another round together with my lunch just now.

Wanna go out with Adrian for grocery shopping but I proposed at the wrong time and ho bo ho, he called at the wrong time (when I was having my bath) so I just told him that I'll go alone. Instead, I ended up here, right now, blogging and the shopping mood is also gone with the afternoon wind. Bo sim liaw mar. Maybe it's just me but since what I have planned doesn't work, I might as well cancel everything. Looks like it's another boring day for me again at home.

For two consecutive days, things aren't going as I planned. I'm not blaming others but MYSELF!!!

The holiday this time is truly WASTED~ Argh!!!!! KNS!!!!!

Day 6

Had F1 formula as breakfast and tea twice for the rest of the day. Eat as usual as I'm giving myself a break on weekends.

Even though it's Saturday, I had nothing much to do. Supposed to go to college for marking in the morning for 3 hours but mum ruined my plan. Argh!!! Adrian went for mountain climbing at Mt. Serapi with his brother and later worked till late in the evening. :( Should have followed him for mountain climbing but since I'm always a loser when it comes to climbing, better don't. I spent the whole day doing -> NOTHING!! Not even bother to mark any test paper or whatsoever. Played with GerGer for about an hour though and that's it.

What a day to enjoy life~

Day 5

Day 5 was yesterday. It was a public holiday so I'm giving myself a break as well. I had Nutrishake in the morning as breakfast, 1 pong pia and then a slice of 'bak gua' in the afternoon for lunch and again 250ml of Nutrishake.

At night, die lor...Italian dinner with Adrian, Ya Lee, Chris and Violet @ Bella Italia. We ordered 3 pizzas and 1 chicken lasagna. All are fully packed with calories!!! Later we went to Jase's Tea Room at 101 Premier to have another round of drink and ho bo ho I ordered Chocolate Mint. Hai~~ Mou ngan tai~

Anyway, I started exercising today with 30 minutes of hula hoop plus some house mopping inside and outside the house.

Day 4

Today, marked the 4th day I'm taking Herbalife F1 Nutrishake. I'm surviving so far but I'm still lacking of exercise. Perhaps it due to flu, I feel so lazy and tired to even move my butt around.

I'll be taking Nutrishake this morning as my breakfast and lunch as I will be having normal dinner tonight. In between, I'll be drinking the tea as part of the nutritional program.

Yesterday I weighted myself and it shows 70kg. Yeah!!! I've lost 1 kg so far.

Yesterday was Day 2 of my Herbalife experience. I took the F1 shake in the morning and afternoon and had usual dinner at night. Had the tea twice and was having my detox session 3 times again in the evening.

Was down with flu so I had to apply one day sick leave and slept for the whole afternoon. I had a little cheat yesterday with 1 pong pia and 1 tau sa pia but that's it.

I weighed 70kg yesterday as at 8.34pm perhaps because of all the detoxification process going on.

I have started my personal project this morning. Having only F1 French Vanilla Shake as my breakfast at 6 am, my 1st detoxification process started around 9 am, 2nd @ 11 am and the 3rd @ 12 pm. I don't feel hungry at all the whole morning, had my proper lunch at Semariang with my usual gang and will be on F1 again this evening as my meal replacement.

Langkawi - Day 1

On the 13th March, I took an early flight from Kuching to KL. My destination on that day was not KL though.

I was not alone. My faithful travelling companion all along has been a good friend and someone closed to my heart. She's there when I need her and best of all, she has never complaint about anything during a trip. Oh..mum..you are the best!!

By the time we were approaching KL, the time is almost 8.45am. The time is still early and our next flight to Langkawi was at 11 a.m.

Knowing that we can't do much thing in LCCT, we spent our time slowly and steadily at Asian Kitchen Restaurant with Nasi Lemak as our breakfast.

The moment that we were waiting for, finally we were on our way down to the beautiful island known as Pulau Langkawi.

We rented a car - Iswara (RM 140 for 2 days) at the arrival hall of Langkawi International Airport and the first destination that we went to was no other than the petrol station of course! After pumping RM30 fuel, off we went to search for Dataran Lang. Along the way, we came by Langkawi Fair first. It was supposed to be the largest shopping mall in Langkawi but to me, there's nothing much to see there. My priority is not shopping anyway.

This is the main entrance of the mall.

Taman Lagenda and CHOGM Park turned out to be a "must go" destination on the map. Even though it's hot, we went down to take photos as well. The view is really nice. I fall in love with the island right there and then.

From Taman Lagenda, you can see the biggest Helang in Langkawi waiting for you across the beach.

After taking a few shots at Taman Lagenda, off we went to Dataran Lang which is just a few minutes drive away.

Finally, goal No. 1 achieved. Yeah! ~

We checked into our hotel (Langkasuka Beach Resort) around 6 in the evening. The hotel looked exactly like Santubong Beach Resort. After checking the brochure I just found out that they are associate hotels. No wonder..

Without wasting my time, I changed into my swimsuit and went straight into the pool for a nice relaxing dip after a hot day. Wah..song~

The last photo of the day was prawn salad I took at the hotel. It's yummy.. but the service is a bit slow. It only came after about half and hour later. Anyway, I was looking forward for the next day as the main destination will be Langkawi Cable Car. Till then..

Twintech's Family Day cum Annual Dinner 8 - 9 March '08

For the first time ever, our company held their family day cum annual dinner at Santubong Resort, Kuching. Packed with mini amazing race during the daytime, performances and lucky draws at night, all staff and family members enjoyed it to the max.

We(Sting Ray/ Red Team) did not win the race but we managed to get the 3rd place though. Good team members overall. :)

Dinner was fun too. A lot of lucky prizes to be won and guess what I got that night. 1 GB Kingston USB Flash, Car Modulator with remote control and a Pyrex bowl..hahaha..

I have been stalked by a student of mine since last year but I just keep one of my eyes closed until recently when he sent an email saying that he wanted to kill my boyfriend. With my blood boiliing, I caught up with him and brought him to my office for a nice "counselling" session. He sat down nervously but within 5 minutes, he somehow got scared and managed to run away..yeah..run away..What a coward!!! ~ Since that, everytime he sees me in the college, he would walked the other way. A few days ago, Mei Mei brought Elvina and I to somewhere in Green Road for "Lui Cha". Ooh..I love Lui Cha, I can take it anytime. It's a very healthy meal consists mainly of vegetables like cangkuk manis, green onions, friend bean curb, long beans and sweet white carrot. Add in some peanuts too for the crunchy taste.

The main highlight however is the 'cha' or the tea which mainly contains a few different types of vege and herbs. It's either you love it or you hate it. My dad for example, don't really like it. Animal food he said..haha..

This is how I eat it. I pour the tea into my vegetables.

When I went to the Mini Zoo operated by Turn Red Sdn. Bhd. a couple of weeks ago, I met a new animal friend. It's name is Wahee and he's an otter. Ooh..I love otter. I think they are very cute! According to the zoo keeper, Wahee likes to eat anything raw from chicken to fish.

These are my collections of Hill Mina or also known as their scientific name Gracula Religiosa. Inspired by other photography fellows during their visit to Turn Red Mini Zoo at Bau recently, I personally invited a few friends aka photography enthusiasts to join me in a photography outing last Saturday as well. My oh my, that was the first time I spent quite a few long hours at a Mini Zoo. Thanks to Chris, Ian and Sze Cha for accompanying me!~

College Pet

Introducing our college pet - Big Tummy. She's pregnant at the moment by the way. This is how she looked like when she had her eyes on food.

She's almost drooling, and keep licking it's mouth and still keeping an eye for the food in my hand.

She's getting annoyed of me. Haha! ~ Still keep teasing her with the food in my hand.

Ok, she's realised that it's not good to look at me like that so she changed her expression.

Finally, I can't stand the way she looked at me so I let her have the food. She looked cute isn't it?

These are the photos I like best when I was at the Philippines. Thanks to our friendly and helpful taxi driver.

The first one was taken at Intramuros also known as the Walled City. That was the second day there but the beginning of our trip since we missed out everything due to flight delay the previous evening. It is just situated just right in the heart of Manila.

Our destination later in the evening was Mall of Asia. According to our taxi driver, it is the largest shopping mall in the Philippines and used to be in Asia. Lots of things to see here. Nice! A must go if you are a shopping freak.

This one was taken when we were stopping by at Chinatown. It was a nice vacation indeed and cheap too. The return tickets only costs me RM392 because of Air Asia Zero tickets promotion. Other expenses minus the shopping costs me less than RM 600. :)

KK - The Philippines Part 2

23 March 2007. Waiting anxiously for our flight to Clark City, Phillippines. We were supposed to catch our flight at around 1.45pm but due to bad weather our flight was delayed till 7pm++.

But the time we arrived in Clark, it was already 9.36p.m and we're not at our destination yet. We boarded a coach to bring us to Manila which took us about 2 hours ride. Then, have to get another 2 more taxis to bring us to our hotel which took us about 30 minutes.

This was the first interesting thing to see during our bus ride to Manila. Even the toll is the better than ours here in Kuching. Apart from the toll, there's jeepney, traffic, people and more traffic even it was already late at night.

We checked into our hotel (Executive Plaza Hotel) right in the heart of Malate in Manila at midnight. So, the whole day gone just like that.

Pangkalan Sapi

Pangkalan Sapi is just situated along Sarawak River overlooking Kuching Waterfront. A few days back after a hard day at work, I've decided to go there to relax my mind and since I brought my camera along, might as well lar. I took a few shots.

It was a fine evening and the weather is just right for photography.

Didn't know that it's quite relaxing here as well. A good place to unwind. :)

Damai Outing

Went to Damai a few weeks back with Ya Lee, Chris and Adrian. Doing nothing really, just that I had the feeling of wanting to go the beach and relax plus a little bit of photography as well. Most of the photos were just simply point and shoot. It was raining a little bit some more.

KK - The Philippines Part 1

22-27 March 2007, days that I would never forget. That was the day I had a short trip KK, Sabah and the following day to the Philippines. Both places are totally new to me. In KK, we only managed to go to nearby area such as The Filipino Market and Centre Point which is just directly opposite our hotel (Allson Genesis).

Filipino Market

We had this not so nice encounter at the Filipino market when one of my collegueas actually being taunted for not buying a keychain. This is what we heard as we were leaving the place " Kalau tak nak beli, janganlah minta nak tengok" ("If you don't intend to buy, then don't asked for it"). Wah lao eh, so rude! I'm sure one day the owner would go bankrup soon with this kind of attitude.

Joyce's uncle was able to bring us around the town area in the evening and he bought us over to a place called Salut to have seafood. Yummy!

Nothing much going on the first day at KK coz is not our target. So, basically, we just jalan-jalan (walking around) and wash our eyes, er..I meant window shopping.

BG Relationship

BG (Boy Girl) Relationship is something which you don't have to go to school, college or University and earning a degree for it. It's something quite natural derived from the instinct of human beings. Something that has been embedded in our human genes to look for the other partner. According to the chinese old folks, each and everyone of us have been tied together with our partner with an invisible red string before we were even born. It will then be our fate and destiny to look for our the other half when we are in the human form. Some of us might not be fortunate enough to have partner coz they (people above) might have forgottten to attach the red string due to some unexplain errors. Interesting huh?

Exercise vs Dieting

Standing at 165cm and currently hitting the scale at 66kg, I am actually at the level of being overweight. A friend of mine asked me earlier of the year what's my resolution for year 2007 and I simply said "losing 7 kgs this year (60kg) ". That time I was 68kg and he took my answer with a sinister smile and said "We'll wait and see".

I was still in an idle mode of losing weight until a good friend of mine approached me and asked me to become her bridemaid's for her wedding in November. Wow, a bride's maid..I gotta look good for this! Determined to look good and feel good, I started with more consistency going for hiking with Triora during Sundays if I can make it, going for squash and lately I started brisk walking. I realised that my stamina is really bad during hiking. :(

Yesterday after a full dinner, I stepped on the weighing scale and the needle pointed to 65.5kg. Another 5.5kg to go and I'll be reaching my targeted weight. Another friend of mine said to me recently that execising is useless but dieting is more effective. As a food lover myself, I totally disagree of what she said. I still eat whatever I like especially during the weekends. With this, I'm gonna prove to her that exercise is good and I still get to enjoy the food that I love like ice creams..hahaha..

Having studied in a SRK and SMK school means there's no Chinese education for me since I was young. Being a Hokkien chinese but was unable to speak in Mandarin have had me avoiding those people who is talking in Mandarin all the time or most of the time. Yeah right, I'm a banana so what?

Since the installation of parabolic satellite at home, I have been following Mandarin speaking programs most of the time and I can say that my understanding of Mandarin language has improved a lot. Only if I had to then I would try to open my mouth and speak the language. That is of course very much broken Mandarin or Rojak Mandarin + Hokkien + English.

One thing that I can't understand is that, most of my good friends around me can speak Hokkien but sometimes they just have to speak in Mandarin even though they know some people in the group cannot speak this language. Why ah? Why? What's wrong with Hokkien or English since everyone can speak those two languages? Imagine going to France or Thailand and you just dunno what they are talking about? How would you feel?

Padawan Outing

Last Gawai holiday, I managed to go to 10th mile Padawan for photography outing with a bunch of photography enthusiasts. We had breakfast at Swee Sen Cafe which is famous for their different range of prices of handmade Kolo mee. The cheapest being RM 3 and the most expensive one is RM 30 (upon request).

After breakfast, our first destination supposed to be Padawan Pitcher Plant and Orchid Garden but who knows, it only opens at 11am during public holiday. So, we ended up at Semenggoh Wildlife centre just in time to see the Orang Utan having their meal. Entrance fee is RM 5 for students and RM 8 for an adult.

Lucky for us, there were 6 Orang Utans all together that day. The daddy utan, mummy utan and the baby utans.

The daddy utan is really cool and he's already 27 years old.

After all the ooohs..and aahhhss at Semenggoh, we went back to Pitcher Plant & Orchid Garden again. Entrance fee is cheap. Only RM 2. These are some of the photos taken there.

It was a great outing and I had fun! :)

Feeling sick

After lunch today, I started to have sore throat and few hours later which is now..I'm starting to have runny nose and my sore throat is getting worst. Die liaw lar..cannot cannot not now..I've applied for leave tomorrow to study for my MOS so please..body ah body..dun be sick now..Kuai Kuai please..

Photography was one of the thing that I've discovered a few years back. Back then where got thing call digital camera?? What is digital camera and how it looked like I also dunno.

I first got my camera when I was working in Informatics. It was a Canon Prima Zoom, if I'm not mistaken. I bought it in 2001 with my second salary. Fascinated by beautiful photos and pictures, I took a lot of photos too but then since it's a film camera, a lot of money was required to develop the negative. Bad point huh..

Then, I upgraded myself to a digital camera in 2002 with Canon Powershot A70. It has been my darling ever since. I took it almost anywhere with me even though it's kinda bulky. It has been very loyal to me until year 2006 when it begun to show me symptoms of getting sick. The screen started to display errantically and sometimes it blanked out. I took it to Canon hospital for quite a number of times until the technician also said there's no more hope..:(

So, what do I do..I got myself another digital camera, more compact one this time. Canon Ixus 800 IS. It's cute, compact, light and not so bulky as my Powershot. Of course, the functions are not so great though. I let my Powershot rest in peace and now brought along my Ixus everywhere I go. Still not satisfied with the functions of my Ixus and encouraged by my photography friends, I bought another gadget, a DSLR, Canon EOS 350D. True Canon fan huh?? Haha..

Ever since I got my SLR, I found out that I can do a lot with it, however, I'm lacking of certain gears. I only have the standard kit lens and a 90-300mm zoom lens with me. No filters nor appropriate tripod to go with it yet. Photography is indeed a very expensive hobby huh? My Dear Ex - Colleagues

Suddenly got a call from Adrian around 7.30 p.m. yesterday saying "Eh, Ah Liaw is here in Kuching!!" I said ,"What!! Liaw is here?? I got things to do boh...cannot meet him ler.." I was actually at my cousin's place that time and I had to be the driver to bring my little cousin to see the doctor since my uncle is working night shift. Haiyoo..can I meet my old friend Ah liaw or not?

Rush here and there and finally I sent sms saying I'll be free in another 10 minutes time and on my way to meet Ah Liaw at Expert in BDC. Yeah!!! The same old Liaw..Why am I so close to these two ex-colleagues of mine?? Maybe we went in my current company now at the same time. Adrian and I came in on 10 June 2002 and Ah Liaw on the next day.

Adrian and I sat with each other and Ah Liaw, just right in front of me. The moment I saw Adrian, hmm..ok, he's fine, not arrogant and smiling..but the moment I saw Ah Liaw..aiyoo, this guy is a bit harder to handle ler..hardly see him smile..very cool..and scary...Who knows..Ah Liaw is actually a very nice guy like Adrian..hahaha..in 2002 we took a photograph together during the official opening ceremony of Twintech and yesterday after 5 years being separated, there's another photo of us together again!

Good food at Sukma Ria, Semariang

Sukma Ria, Semariang is one of the place in my working area where I can find good Malay food to have my lunch. Most of the favourite Malay delicacies are there..Nasi Goreng Kampung, Nasi Lemak, Laksa Sarawak, Nasi Campur, etc..you just name it..Here are a few of my favourites and they costs around RM 3 - RM 4.

Last weekend, I went to Choice Daily just to try my luck and see whether they have oyster or mussells and they did. So, I ended up buying a packet of mussells and a container of garlic butter. Went home, cleaned the mussells and then spread a genenous amount of garlic butter on each of the mussell.

Switched on my oven, preheated the oven for 5 minutes, turned it to 250 Degree Celcius and baked the mussells for 15 minutes. The end product..juicy and yummy..

Work Satisfaction

Lately, I have been complaining about my current work and I think I need to give it a stop. It's a negative feeling and I had enough. Life is short and it should not be wasted just like that. Therefore, I need to be more positive! Since my environment cannot be changed, I might as well change the way I behave towards the environment. It's fair enough for us to ask for help when we are in trouble and it'll be great if we can contribute. So, Amelia..chia you, chia you!

What the %$%!!?? My office desk was in a mess!! There' s weird smell as well. The moment I opened my office door, my eyes was fixed on the messy desk. Elvina was at her desk doing her things and said "Sorry, Amelia for your computer".

Huh?? What happened? Apparently, my CPU "exploded", and there's smoke coming out from the door when both of us were not inside the room. She got panicked and called our technician right away. Tuan Haji also tumpang sekaki by asking what happened?

So, Faisal just took my CPU away saying that probably the fan doesn't work and he'll check. So what happened actually? Now, I'm without my PC in the office, no Internet, no email, no blogging..Cham liaw lar~~~

Went through the briefing and it was talking about Marketing activities and plan as usual. Wa si sin sei and if e lang ai wa help up in marketing actities kana chik peh long kah, chik brochure kah, beh an chuo, wa tolong kau kau but if ai wa choi students, hit target..aiyoo..an ne, wa tem pai kin previous company "poi" chuk lai si cho mik ler?? Tu si kia tiok cho marketing cha poi chut lai ma, tiok boh..

Wa ci cun ka ki teaching eh mik kia tu cho beh liaw beh liaw lor..an chuo??..ai ka students ma si ai prepare ho ho cha eh tang ka students..bo cin cai lai meh..tak lang ma eh hiaw ka..Hai~~ last two days, wa wu nightmares liaw..kun pun tit tit cho bang wa kin ok theng ka check, tak check, cho bang tiok ka ki ka tien wa, cho bang bo hit target, tauke meh..Cit ler si wa eh first nightmare since wa kin chi ler company cho kang..if continue lok lai ko wu nightmare ler..wa tu eh tang choi pak ler kang liaw..

Mt. Singai Adventure

The photos here were taken on 29 April during our (Me, Sze Hong, Alvin & Triora) trekking adventure at Mt. Singai, Bau.

Triora was asking me whether I'm interested to go to Singai the day before thru SMS and I said " Why not?". At first I thought, it will be just another day where I only need to walk up the long winding stairs to the church but at the end, they have decided to climb to the peak as well. Gosh!~ First of all, my shorts were not suitable for mountain climbing in the first place as it is not strechable and another thing was that, I only brought along 250ml bottle of water in my little waist pouch. Luckily, it's not that hot coz most of the time we're under shades of trees so I don't really drink much on the way up and down.

Our pace was quite slow as I found out that Triora and I don't really have the stamina to go up however I was really fast when going down. :) We bumped into a lot of "uncles" and aunties" whom are much much older than us but then, they climbed the mount as if walking up and down the stairs. We had to crawl on our legs and hands sometimes. One of the uncle actually told us that it's been a routine for him to climb the mountain every Wednesday and Sunday. Wow~

Finally, we made it to the top after a few hours at Mt. Singai, Bau. Yeah! Snapped a few photos..oh yeah, did you notice the black clouds behind us? We just managed to climbed down for a few metres when suddenly..heavy rain dropped down on us. Nevertheless, we carried on until we were soaking wet inside out. It was fun and adventurous though. So, anyone wants to join us for the next trip to Singai?
